Fidel Flores was born and raised in Calipatria. Flores attended school and graduated from Calipatria High School. Flores is married to Wendy and have 4 sons. Flores has been employed at the Pepsi Cola Company for over 41 years. He is a technician and is looking forward to retiring soon. Flores is an active member of St. Patrick's Church and has been the choir director for many years. He is also a musician and has played in many events which has given him the opportunity to meet a diverse population of people throughout the Imperial Valley.
Flores decided to run for City Council because he needed to see how he could help his community and be a voice for the people. Being that he comes from such a small town and known by many, Flores feels he can be trusted in providing the right answer to the communities questions.
Flores feels he will acquire immense experience before he retires and will have acquired the policy making knowledge on making quality decisions for the city as a council member. Flores is looking forward to dothe best he can for many years to come.
Heather Beltran has lived in the City of Calipatria for over 15 years. Beltran grduated from Calipatria High School and currently volunteers her time working for the Fremont Elementary School and the Calipatria PAL (Police Athletic League). Beltran is currently taking on-line classes to obtain her Bachelor's Degree in Communications. Beltran is a busy mother of six children and the community of the City of Calipatria is important to her. Beltran was appointed to the city council in 2013.
Fred R. BeltranFred R. Beltran has served on the Calipatria City Council for 12 years. Fred attended Imperial Valley College, Southwestern College Chula Vista College and San Diego City College before graduating from the Riverside Sheriff’s Academy in Riverside, CA.Prior to his current position as Westmorland Chief of Police, he has held positions at the Calipatria Police Department and Coachella Police Department. He currently serves on the City’s Redevelopment Agency Board, Community Development Block Grant Committee, and is a past member of the Parks and Recreation Committee and the Calipatria State Prison Citizens’ Advisory Board.email@example.com
Maria Nava-Froelich was raised in Niland, California and attended local schools, graduated from Calipatria High School and Imperial Valley College. Maria has been employed at Calipatria Unified School District as a Migrant Education Program Coordinator for the past 34 years. She and her husband Christian have two adult sons: Ralph and Andres and one adult daughter: Priscilla.
Her motivation and passion for the city has been community involvement, economic development and business growth. She served as Mayor in 2014.
She is currently serving on the Imperial County Transportation Commission, Local Transportation Authority, Imperial County Service Authority for Freeway Emergencies, Imperial County Resource Management Agency, Local Agency Formation Commission, Calipatria Corrections Department-Citizens Advisory Committee, Vice President-Imperial County League of Cities, 2014 Delagate-Southern California League of Cities. Other organizations involvement include; Calipatria Chamber of Commerce, Niland Chamber of Commerce, American Legion Corregidor Post 597 Women's Auxiliary, Migrant Parent Advisory Council and President of Calipatria Unified School District-California School Employees Association Chapter #393.
Jimmy Spellins has lived in Calipatria for 21 years, has been a bi-vocational minister for many years. Before retiring, worked for the Calipatria Unified School District as transportation supervisor, bus driver trainer and supervisor over transportaion and maintenance departments. Jimmy, during this time, also pastors the First Southern Baptist Church of Calipatria serving there for 23 years.
Romualdo J. MedinaRomualdo “Rom” Medina has served as City Manager for the City of Calipatria for 15 years. Rom previously led the team at R.J. Medina Construction as owner. He is a graduate of Calipatria High School, Associates of Arts degree from Imperial Valley College, holds a bachelor’s degree from San Diego State University and a Master’s in Public Administration from National University. Rom is a Corporate Member of the International City/County Management Association.Rom is highly active in the community. Participating in various organizations including the Calipatria Lions Club, Calipatria Chamber of Commerce, Calipatria Little League Basketball Program and the St. Patrick Parish Council. He currently serves on the Imperial Community College District Board of Trustees and for the past 20 years, 1995 - 2015, and has previously served as a member on the Calipatria Unified School District Board of Trustees from December 1987 through December 1995.email: firstname.lastname@example.org
